Fruity Bread Halwa

PRINT THIS POST

Ingredients:
1.Bread slices-5(remove the edges and cut into cubes)
2.Milk-1 cup
3.Sugar-4 spoons
4.Ghee-1/4 cup
5.Apple-6 slices(remove the skin)
6.Banana-1
7.Pomegranate-1/4 cup
8. Kesari colour-very little pinch

Method:
In a skillet, add 3 spoons of ghee and roast the bread slices till they reach golden colour.
keep it aside.
Grind the fruits apple, banana and pomegranate along with sugar and half of the milk specified into smoothie. This gives a violet colour smoothie. Now In a skillet add the smoothie along with the rest of the milk and let it boil. Now add the bread slices and mix well.. when the halwa starts sticking to the kadai..add ghee and mix well. I added little kesari colour here..

You can also add grated chocolate here..to make it choco-fruity bread halwa.
Finally serve it with Ghee roasted Cashews..

This is my entry for AFAM, an event by Maheshwari of http://publishtoday.blogspot.com
this time hosted by SRA of http://whenmysoupcamealive.blogspot.com/2008/01/announcing-afam-pomegranate.html

Hope You all enjoy this halwa...like we did..

Hi Lavanya, this is quite different. Did you take any precautions to prevent the milk from curdling after adding the pomegranate smoothie?

sagari..Nice of you to be here and thank you.

Uma..thank you.

Sra..The smoothie should be used right after it is grinded to avoid curdling. and since i used pre-boiled milk..when i warmed up i added bread slices. thank you SRA.

Kalai..this is not so creative compared to your pomegranate rice.

Thank you dhivya dear.
